Hi everyone,

Since a bit less than a week, I landed in Santiago, Chile. Despite the spring conditions, the snow layer is here, and mountains of Chile are still great to go shred =) ! During the last days, the resort of El Colorado, Chile, hosted the first stop of the Freeskiing World Tour.

I decided to take part to this comp, and I have to say everything’s happened well ! I finished second, I was crown “SickBird” (best line of the comp). (more…)

After a couple of weeks of hacking and some nightshifts at the very end our website is finally online. We’ll be on the beach now, doing aftersurf-debugging sessions. Nobody is perfect: So feel free to let us know whatever doesn’t work on your browser end. Thanks, the ARC with square eyes.

SO GNAR got the next Mixtape ready for you to Download!  This one is coming Live from Los Angeles CA.  Our boy Chris Cuts has been holding it down there for quite some time.  This mix is a nice blend of Funk, Soul and some new jams.  Gotta love this mix, he starts with one of my all time favs, Summer Madness!  The journey begins there, the mix travels through a little Bill Withers and Bar-Kays…and ends up with a funky Mark Ronson remix of Miike Snow’s anthem “animal.”  34 tracks are mixed on this nice little Gem that conveniently wraps up in 72 minutes.  That way you can burn it to disc, pop in your car and allow it to be the soundtrack to you summer.

After four years it’s starting to feel natural: when spring rolls around, the days grow longer and the snow starts to melt, a group of skiers from diverse locales make something like a pilgrimage to the slopes of Mt. Hood, Oregon for the West Coast Session.

Timberline builds an amazing terrain park to ride, Windell’s Camp provides breakfast, accommodations and access to their awesome campus, and Amplid makes all the necessary arrangements. A place to stay, a place to ride, and good friends to enjoy it all with: that’s WCS in a nutshell. And eventually we all wake up to alarms buzzing and realize that it’s May 5, it’s dumping snow, and for the fourth time around, the West Coast Session is in the works. It seems hard to believe that it’s May. Four feet of snow have fallen in the last week and the park crew at Timberline has had a hard time digging out the park.

This is supposed to be a sunny spring park shoot – but when it’s snowing in May, who’s complaining? Besides, it just wouldn’t be the West Coast Session without a bit of fresh snow around to “ruin” all the fun. READ MORE @ NEWSCHOOLERS.com …

Dino Grgic, ist 15 Jahre alt und kommt aus Bad Gastein eines der sicksten Freeride Gebieten in Austria. Dino liebt es in den Bergen unterwegs zu sein. Im Winter konzentriert sich der junge Freeskier voll und ganz aufs Park-shredden in ganz Österreich und Italien. So ist der junge Salzburger bereits seit einigen Jahren auf Contests, Fotoshootings und fürs Filmen unterwegs, um seinen Sponsoren, Free ALPI Style, FASC Clothing und Amplid mit sicken Shots zu versorgen!

The legendary Orage Masters will go down in Whistyler on April 17th.

Skiing’s one and only, infamous Anti-Comp is back with its break all rules attitude, costume-clad competitors, on hill shenanigans and 6 year history of being the “funnest” comp on the planet. We’re stoked that you’ll be joining us for the Orage Masters 7 at the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival on April 17, 2010.

The Orage Masters is a simple round robin slopestyle where teams compete head to head in 15 minutes jam sessions. The winning team from each heat advances to the next round. 8 Teams enter, 4 move to the second round, 2 teams compete in the finals and 1 ultimately takes home the Masters Crown and coveted White Dinner Jackets. New to the format this year will be the Half Time Hoe Down and Superlative Awards.-After the quarterfinal round of 8, the 4 eliminated teams will be asked to send one team member to compete in a 4 way winner take all challenge with cold hard cash on the line.

Before winter’s over, we gonna rock the Alps like they deserve it! Thus, the program of the Oberland Open 2010 at the Snowpark Fiss Ladis on the 27th of March 2010 features both freeskiers and snowboarders and this time, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is searching for the real allround talent! All motivated freestylers are invited to present their skills of kicker jumping and rail sliding and try to win the generous prize money of EUR 3000,- Under the motto “a high quality slopestyle contest including a fresh kicker and a tasty rail”. As a round-off the celebration of a great day, a contest winner and the arrival of spring will continue at 21 o’clock at the After Contest Party with DJ Beestyle at the Hackl’s Kaller. To give you a special insight to the contest, the region and its scene, we’ve asked the local freeskier Harald “Härry” Juen for a local perspective … MORE HERE …

Last week THE  pr agency “Häberlein&Mauerer” invited me to a skiing day in Hochfügen. We couldn’t ask for a better weather. Conditions still were good concerning the fact that we saw people sunbathing almost naked on the terrace. All in all a great day ending with the statement of Stefan Mauerer about the new Rockwell: “What a  start in the day in HOCHFÜGEN. Testing the new Rockwell: It´s lightweight, It´s fast, It´s easy to handle and still it keeps the trace. Thanxx”
