More footage from Jackson Hole born and bred John Rodosky. The “In The Works” crew happened to be passing through Jackson and hooked up with John for a few days of pow slaying and boosting off booters. The whole 8 minute edit which has featured on Transworld Snowboarding online is crammed full of smooth shredding from the In The Works crew, but if you want to skip through to the Jackson Hole pow-fest, it starts at 6:05.
A 40ft base means that Bachelor’s lifts will be hauling riders to the top of the hill for another 6 weeks! Good news for Cartel rider Justin Norman who seems to have found a liking for going upside down twice off backcountry booters, but needs snow to do it. Ever wondered what it’s like to be mid-way through a McTwist in slushy La Plagne whilst riding next year’s Amplid Paradigma? It’s pretty damn confusing, so that’s why we got French Ambush rider Yannick Pebrel to film it in slow motion and put together a montage. You get a good look at next year’s 159 Paradigma halfway through a backside 540 at 0:55, but is that a dead person next to the hit at 0:51?
When a tour in the Austrian Alps turns bad all you can do is focus on survival. Whiteout, directed by Philip Kammerer and featuring Amplid’s very own Andi Nitsche, is the (slightly shorter than epic) tale of four friends tempted out to the mountains for fresh lines when a storm rolls-in and ruins their day’s shredding and planned night in the local boozer. I won’t spoil the story for you but I think the moral of it is, don’t drink a bottle of snapps from your parent’s liquor cabinet the night before and then expect to be able to keep-up on a hike the following day.
The Amplid team knows that Cartel rider John Rodosky is one of the best all-mountain riders out there. For the past couple of seasons John has been achieving some great results on the North Face Master’s tour and proving that like a lot of Jackson Hole locals, big mountain riding is in his blood. PRIME TIME is a video contest held by ALL THE SKI. Last year lots of prize money was to be won, this year the black firday situation “only” offers a trip to Vars, France. Since Vars is a bad ass place (even though it sounds like warts), that prize isn’t that bad.
