Bendiks Backyard Bangers
April 19th, 2012When a backyard jib video reaches in excess of 20,000 views even before it has made the ARC Blog, you know it’s the bomb. Norweigen Ambush shredder Bendik Øye hooked up with fellow countryman Andreas Øystein and they put together a pretty legit setup to get damn technical on. Bendik is a skier you need to keep an eye on, he’s going places.

John Rodosky: In The Works EP2
April 15th, 2012More footage from Jackson Hole born and bred John Rodosky. The “In The Works” crew happened to be passing through Jackson and hooked up with John for a few days of pow slaying and boosting off booters. The whole 8 minute edit which has featured on Transworld Snowboarding online is crammed full of smooth shredding from the In The Works crew, but if you want to skip through to the Jackson Hole pow-fest, it starts at 6:05.
Mt Bachelor is Open for More J-Norm Doubles
April 14th, 2012
A 40ft base means that Bachelor’s lifts will be hauling riders to the top of the hill for another 6 weeks! Good news for Cartel rider Justin Norman who seems to have found a liking for going upside down twice off backcountry booters, but needs snow to do it. In this vid from Bachelor Resort check out Justin’s smooth double Wildcat backflip and frontside doublecork. If you want to skip through to Justin throwing down his doubles start at 1:35.
More From Yannicks Yeux
April 12th, 2012Ever wondered what it’s like to be mid-way through a McTwist in slushy La Plagne whilst riding next year’s Amplid Paradigma? It’s pretty damn confusing, so that’s why we got French Ambush rider Yannick Pebrel to film it in slow motion and put together a montage. You get a good look at next year’s 159 Paradigma halfway through a backside 540 at 0:55, but is that a dead person next to the hit at 0:51?
Andi Nitsche Packs His Bags for Hollywood
April 11th, 2012When a tour in the Austrian Alps turns bad all you can do is focus on survival. Whiteout, directed by Philip Kammerer and featuring Amplid’s very own Andi Nitsche, is the (slightly shorter than epic) tale of four friends tempted out to the mountains for fresh lines when a storm rolls-in and ruins their day’s shredding and planned night in the local boozer. I won’t spoil the story for you but I think the moral of it is, don’t drink a bottle of snapps from your parent’s liquor cabinet the night before and then expect to be able to keep-up on a hike the following day.
John Rodosky Kills Kirkwood
April 10th, 2012The Amplid team knows that Cartel rider John Rodosky is one of the best all-mountain riders out there. For the past couple of seasons John has been achieving some great results on the North Face Master’s tour and proving that like a lot of Jackson Hole locals, big mountain riding is in his blood. Last weekend John rode at the Kirkwood stop and was just squeezed off the podium into 4th place. John impressed the judges and media with Read the rest of this entry »
The Blackcomb Saga Continues
April 9th, 2012Mach 10 slams, house sized cliffs and switch powder landings… it can only be March’s installment of the Blackcomb Story series. If you need evidence that the Lexington is THE ski for big mountain freestyle and slashy pow turns and that it can handle the odd tree that gets in the way, Ambush rider Chris Graf supplies it in this episode by the bucket load! Enjoy.
