WEST COAST SESSION presented by AMPLID & NEWSCHOOLERS

Ah, how they grow: what just yesterday seemed a gangly, pimply and socially awkward ski event called the West Coast Session has quickly matured into a full-grown, hairy-chest man event. What’s become Mt. Hood’s signature spring park skiing session is back for a third year, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Presented by AMPLID and Newschoolers.com, the West Coast Session gathers 25 of the world’s top young park skiers for a four-day film and photo shoot on the unique creations of the Timberline Lodge terrain park crew, documented by a group of equally talented guys behind expensive lenses who will capture all the action for extensive event coverage on Newschoolers.com.

The Session concludes on Saturday, April 25 when the Paintbrush park at Timberline Lodge will be opened to the public for a unique chance to ride the shoot features with the invited skiers. Copious amounts of gear from Amplid, Avalaan, Dakine and Spy will be distributed liberally, and as always, a few informal competitions guarantee to keep things interesting.

The following skiers will attend the third West Coast Session:

1) Tom Wallisch
2) Steve Stepp
3) Collin Collins
4) Alex Martini
5) Nick Martini
6) Matt Walker
7) Andrew Hathaway
8) Henrik Harlaut
9) McRae Williams

Fresh off his two-week journey through Norway and Sweden for the Jon Olsson Super Sessions, Simon Dumont returned to his home resort of Sunday River in Newry, Maine to host the first annual Dumont Cup. Over 70 competitors came out to the event in good weather & soft snow to see who would walk away with the first victory of what will surely become one of the signature events to that you’ll want to mark on your calendar.

Recently, I was informed that I have passed Steve Stepp on the NS karma scale. I felt pretty bad about this because: 1) I didn’t know people still used karma and 2) I didn’t know exactly who Steve Stepp was other than being a skier from PA.

My guilt lead to curiosity which then lead to this interview. I think its pretty good.
