After four years it’s starting to feel natural: when spring rolls around, the days grow longer and the snow starts to melt, a group of skiers from diverse locales make something like a pilgrimage to the slopes of Mt. Hood, Oregon for the West Coast Session.
Timberline builds an amazing terrain park to ride, Windell’s Camp provides breakfast, accommodations and access to their awesome campus, and Amplid makes all the necessary arrangements. A place to stay, a place to ride, and good friends to enjoy it all with: that’s WCS in a nutshell. And eventually we all wake up to alarms buzzing and realize that it’s May 5, it’s dumping snow, and for the fourth time around, the West Coast Session is in the works. It seems hard to believe that it’s May. Four feet of snow have fallen in the last week and the park crew at Timberline has had a hard time digging out the park.
This is supposed to be a sunny spring park shoot – but when it’s snowing in May, who’s complaining? Besides, it just wouldn’t be the West Coast Session without a bit of fresh snow around to “ruin” all the fun. READ MORE @ NEWSCHOOLERS.com …

The whole in one.
The WCS had the great honour to have Tatsuya Tayagaki all the way from japan amongst the riders. Tatsuya is not only an awesome skier himself, he is also the editor of BRAVOSKI. Not sure whether you’ll get along with the typography of the article, but at least enjoy the pictures … And thanks for coming Tatsuya !

Profile of Rocmalony: “I am an action photographer from Park City, UT. Photography is my passion, and I love every part about it. I hope you enjoy my photos and leave me some comments on what you think!”
He’s had lots of awesome publications, i.e. on Newschoolers or 4bi9. More stuff on Rocmalony and his Westcoast Session prey including precious moments with A.R.C. riders Alex Martini, Steve Stepp and Tom Wallisch right HERE…

Ah, how they grow: what just yesterday seemed a gangly, pimply and socially awkward ski event called the West Coast Session has quickly matured into a full-grown, hairy-chest man event. What’s become Mt. Hood’s signature spring park skiing session is back for a third year, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Presented by AMPLID and Newschoolers.com, the West Coast Session gathers 25 of the world’s top young park skiers for a four-day film and photo shoot on the unique creations of the Timberline Lodge terrain park crew, documented by a group of equally talented guys behind expensive lenses who will capture all the action for extensive event coverage on Newschoolers.com.

This justcame in from Government Camp, Oregon: Mt. Hood’s signature ski event, the West Coast Session, scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at Timberline Lodge, has been canceled following an awesomely destructive act of Nature on the mountain today, April 1.
Eyewitnesses described billowing clouds of ash and volcanic gasses as a river of steaming magma bubbled to the surface and coiled its way through the snowfields above Timberline Lodge.
